"Enso is Dramatically Different"

  • In Zen Buddhism, the Ensō is a circle drawn in a single gesture, without corrections. It is not revised. It is not adjusted.
    And it is right there, in its unique, imperfect, incomplete stroke, that its perfection lies.

    Many people ask me if my name is ENSO. No. ENSO is the name of the studio.
    And I didn't choose it because of fashion, or because it sounds good. I chose it because     it contains all the philosophy with which I work. Because what we do here goes beyond a photo.

    ENSO represents five principles. And each one lives in every session:

    • The present moment.
      Here we do not come to recreate what others have done.
      We come to inhabit the moment that only you can live.
      When I tell you: "think of your baby...", I am inviting you to come in.
      To be here. To be now. To leave out the nets, the fears, the judgments.
      And it shows in every image.

    • The beauty of emptiness.
      You don't need to fill your session with stuff on set.
      Nor fill your face with fake smiles.
      The real beauty is in leaving space. In letting be. In not forcing.
      What is not said also speaks.
      And that's part of the magic.

    • The balance between control and fluidity.
      There is technique, yes. There is light, direction, structure.
      But there is also soul, connection, silence.
      When you let yourself be seen as you are, and I as an artist stop pushing and just accompany, something powerful happens: together we create true images.       we create true images, that breathe with their own identity.

    • The trace of the unrepeatable moment.
      I'm not looking to repeat you. I'm not here to copy viral photos.
      I want to portray what only you can be, at this exact point in your story.
      That is the image that counts. The one that survives time.

    • The mark of the soul.
      ENSO is not a pose.
      It is an act. A gesture with soul.
      And only when you truly connect and break down your walls, I can touch that deep part of you...
      and leave it written in light.

    So what do we ask of you in ENSO?

    Don't come just looking to replicate what you've already seen.

About me:

Since I was a child I felt a natural connection with the visual arts. As a teenager, I decided to explore this interest with the guidance of a local painter, known in my town as José Picasso. For a few months he guided me in preparing to enter the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in Cuba. Finally after passing the tests, I ended up making another decision and life took another professional direction, away from art.

Even so, that brief stage awakened in me a deep visual sensibility. It was my first real contact with art as a language. I did not learn formal theory at the academy, but I did discover the value of observing, trying and expressing myself. That experience in my preparation - modest but decisive - marked me forever.

Years later, I understood that I could no longer ignore that call of the soul. It was then when that same impulse found its natural channel in photography.

Today, as a professional photographer in Houston, I fuse that plastic sensibility with photographic technique to create portraits and scenes that connect with the soul. I specialize in maternity, newborn and artistic portrait photography, with a visual style that combines elegance, emotion and a defined aesthetic.

At Enso Photography Houston, we are driven by the idea of providing you with a unique and personalized experience, guiding you from start to finish throughout the creative process to bring your vision to life. We are a studio that works with limited spaces and, therefore, our schedules fill up quickly.

We recommend contacting us several months in advance to reserve your session. If you decide to schedule at the last minute, contact us anyway: we may have a space available at the last minute, although we do not recommend it.

Important Note: Maternity Session

  • Reserve between 24 and 30 weeks of gestation. In this period, the belly looks beautiful but is not as heavy, and it is less likely to appear swelling in feet, face or nose, something common in later stages. You will be more comfortable and more mobile.

  • Sessions usually last between 2 and 3 hours and a half.We collaborate with you step by step, giving space for creativity and allowing breaks for you to rest. In this way, we take care of every detail without making you feel exhausted.

  • Remember that our dates fill up quickly, so we recommend that you book as far in advance as possible.so we recommend that you book as far in advance as possible.
